Times and Details

The auditorium opens 30 minutes before show time. Our show will have two acts of approximately one hour each separated by a 15 minute intermission.
Please plan for early arrival and parking so you will not be late for the performance. The Scottish Rite building will be open one hour in advance of performance time. Those arriving after the performance begins will be seated only when there is an appropriate moment in the first act. Those arriving very late will not be seated until after intermission.
We do not cancel performances due to weather conditions except in the most extreme situations.
No cameras or recording devices are permitted in the theater.

Location

Main entrance to the Scottish Rite Theater is at 1512 SW Morrison, at 15th. (map from Yahoo!) Handicapped entrance is on Morrison, just west of the main theater entrance; please check with theater staff for entry. If you have special needs such as wheelchair seating, please notify the box office in advance.

Driving directions:

At south edge of downtown area the freeway makes a big split. You'll want the middle lanes, bending left and following signs for Hwy 405/Beaverton/Zoo. Proceeding along Hwy 405, you'll have two good exit choices:

Follow signs for I-405 over Fremont bridge to Couch/Burnside #2A exit. At ramp end you'll be on 15th, so cross straight through 2 stoplight intersections at Couch and Burnside, continue across Alder St. to next corner at Morrison.

From I-84 heading west: (directions with images, from MapQuest)
Follow signs and ramp for Morrison Bridge & City Center. After crossing Morrison Bridge into downtown Portland, you will be on Washington St westbound. You'll need to take any left (Broadway or 11th would be good choices) to move two blocks south to Morrison; turn right onto Morrison to cross over Hwy 405 and arrive at corner of 15th at Morrison.

Take Canyon Rd exit, cross MAX tracks, loop right partway around circle to continue East on Columbia St, take left at 14th to Morrison, left to corner of 15th and Morrison

Parking:

Parking is available on the street, but we highly recommend taking public transportation because finding street parking can be difficult and time-consuming. Note that all street parking is metered until 7pm daily, so you may wish to allow extra time to find parking or consider taking public transportation. Another option is to park at the Mallory Park at 15th and Yamhill or the downtown Smart Park at 10th and Morrison. It might be a good idea to drop off passengers at the door on Morrison and proceed to explore parking options.

Public transportation:

MAX light rail eastbound passes one block south of the theater on Yamhill St and westbound trains pass directly in front of the theater on Morrison St. Get off at the stop for PGE Park.

The Portland streetcar also runs near the theater. Get off at the stop for the Central Library and walk north to Morrison. Turn left and walk five blocks to 15th and Morrison.

Several buses run near the theater, including the 15, 51, 18, and 20. Tri-Met has an excellent trip planner online that allows you to enter the location you're coming from and the time you want to arrive, returning with the best options for arriving at the theater.

Single fares for MAX, streetcar, and bus are $1.25 for a one- or two-zone trip (usually within the city of Portland) and $1.55 for trips covering a greater distance.
