SummerFaire 2013, held on Saturday, July 13th, was a delightful success - thanks to all who helped and attended!
SummerFaire 2014 will again take place on Saturday, July 12, 2014 outdoors on the green at the South end of the Portland State University campus, bounded by Hall and College streets, and by Peter Stott and Shattuck halls on the West and East. Portland Revels’ free public event in honor of the Summer Solstice bookends our successful Christmas Revels performances honoring the Winter Solstice now in their 19th year in Portland. We've partnered with the PSU Farmer’s Market to present a day of family activities and performance emphasizing multicultural world traditions. Our mission is to celebrate the seasons in community with traditions and the performing arts; since many of the seasonal folk arts traditions that Revels preserves and showcases arose in the context of the agricultural cycle of planting and harvesting and small village life, basing this new celebration in the Farmer's Market seems like coming home.
